As an Accounting Manager at H&M Group, you are responsible for ensuring that the financial operations of the organization are well managed, compliant, and transparent, contributing to overall business success according to H&M group rules and local regulations. You will lead the UK & Ireland Accounts team, overseeing group reporting, statutory reporting, tax compliance, audit coordination, and financial controls across all entities.
You will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting according to local GAAP and Group Accounting Standards (IFRS), strong internal controls, and full compliance with local regulations in tax and statutory reporting. You'll lead the UK & IE Accounts team, providing direction and guidance, managing team development and performance.
You'll manage preparation of group reports, statutory accounts, and tax reports for all UK & Ireland entities. You'll oversee month-end close for group accounts, including P&L review, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow, and commentary for Controllers. You'll provide technical guidance and act as the escalation point for complex accounting, tax, and compliance matters.
You'll coordinate with the Global Accounting Team and our Shared Service Centres on accounts postings, reconciliations, and monthly, quarterly, and annual closings to ensure quality and compliance. This role requires strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
This position is based in London, England. We're looking for qualified accountants with strong technical accounting knowledge, team leadership experience, and expertise in UK GAAP, IFRS, and statutory reporting requirements.
